Here is yet another sculpture brochure that features a few of my linear sculpture concepts, they are all metal and wooden mock-ups of proposed large scale outdoor pieces.

The interior pages show several wooden and metal mock-ups of interesting concepts. I lean towards this type of work rather than the normal, traditional ideas of sculpture.

Do You Watch Movies On The Big Screen Or On A Small Screen? [Twilight Saga: Eclipse Movie]

I've always been a fan of watching movie on the big screen however free online streaming and downloading movies can be available after several months from the showing day of the movie that you wanted to watch on the big screen. How about watching you're much awaited movie? What would you choose to watch it on the big screen or on a small screen? Hmm... You don't want to answer? What if I say, Twilight Saga: Eclipse that will be showing on June 30, 2010?

This much awaited movie of the year has arrived! From the bestseller book worldwide Twilight Saga: Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer will invades their fans worldwide on June 30, 2010. Everybody can't wait to see the movie and I' am also excited about it. Everybody are now preparing and scheduled with their friends hang out.

Even though the movie have not yet showing, fans are divided into two groups: Jacob Black and Edward Cullen in other words, Werewolves vs Vampires. Which one is the best, and which one is much hotter? Are you go for Edward Cullen's angelic face or Jacob Black yummy body?

Conformity

Conformity. The compliance with standards, rules, or laws has taken over individuals so that they can be socially accepted. Ironically, society pushes uniqueness because people are free. But when people are free to do what they please, they usually imitate each other. It is most times easier to conform and become the modern day cliché but is it comfortable? Is it even natural?

My friend, Taryn, jokingly said that "We must destroy the status quo because the status is not quo." And my response to that was, "What does quo even mean?!" I couldn't figure out a definite definition of the word "quo" but some might not know what the phrase "status quo" even means. The term is derived from the original Latin "statu quo". Literally translating to "the state in which", the Latin term means the current or existing state of affairs. The way to maintain this status quo is to keep things the way they presently are. But the only way to keep everything the same is if everyone does the same thing and no one changes...right?

An unknown author said, "Don't think you're on the right road just because it's a well-beaten path." And Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail." If you feel like something could be better, do something different! Because, as Doug Floyd said, "You don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note." Which is true. Harmony in a piece is more complex than just a melody but with harmony you might end up with a better song.

Remember, following someone's footsteps isn't always wrong. Just remember to BE YOUR OWN PERSON. Be-YOU-tiful. Always. Doing that is extremely important and you should never lose yourself. There is no need to completely conform because when it comes to living your own life, originality is vital.

So if someone tells you to stick to the status quo, just do what you feel is right. Don't let the idea of conformity enslave you.

More sculpture

This brochure shows some of the masks that I have carved out of various woods. These pieces seem to work best when hung in groups of four or more.

These masks were great fun to carve. It all started when my home was being built, the contractor saved some pieces of wood from the beams that were in the house thinking that I might make use of them, which I did.

What's In The Social Networking Sites?

Nowadays, you say you're "In" if you have these things:
• Facebook Account
• Twitter Account
• Tumblr Account
• Plurk Account
• Formspring.me Account


From the normal days of Friendster, Hi5, Multiply and Myspace. Yeah.. I know that we all gone with these social networking sites. However, we have to admit it that we were also an addict with those and say bye-bye when new social networking sites appears and amazed us with the applications they offer.

Even before without facebook, there are issued about sharing information online in other social networking sites. That appeared to have "poser." Poser is a term of a person who pretend to be the person, or using other person identity just to have friends. I don't know what are they purposes but it gave depression of a real person that someone is using her/his pictures, profile and etc.

It's not normal before, but since all are free to use the internet, and anything can be found and search over the internet, you as a user or have an account in a social networking sites should be responsible in posting your personal information or let say too much information, photos that should be private to your profile.

One more thing, you have to add someone who you know personally. Don't just confirm and confirm friend's request just to have many friends. Because you don't know who is that person and what his/her intentions to you.

Getting "In" when it comes to fashion or in the Internet is not always being cool. You have to be at least responsible in whatever you do, post, share and in what you wear.

Another sculpture proposal

We've had a some very bad storms here in Southwest Michigan and have had no phone service, electricity or internet for a few days. Everything is fine now but it was pretty wild last Friday evening, Gloria and I went to an opening at the Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph and on the way back the storm hit, several trees and branches were blown across the highway and power lines were down. We stopped at a restaurant which had no electricity, but the ovens were working and we shared a pizza. It's pretty strange when you find yourself without power, phone service and no internet.
The image below is another cover for one of my brochures showing sculptural proposals that I have developed. This one was submitted to the Las Vegas Art Museum.


This is a model of my proposal for a garden sculpture group which would consist of six large bronze pieces.

Photographs showing other possible configurations for the sculptures. The mock-up was constructed of wood and the pieces were about 12" tall. Unfortunately, my proposal was not accepted, it would have been a great project to complete.

Preparing for the Fall/Winter...BURBERRY!

I know it's summertime guys but what are you gonna wear when it's over and starts getting chilly? The Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter Collection of 2010 is, needless to say, a very fashionable choice for that "problem". The pictures here are some of my selected favorites and I hope you enjoy them. And if you don't know, now you know...that Burberry is the stuff. =)

What A Girl Wants Are What She Needs

They said, girls are high maintenance than boys. Yes, it's true that we spend more than an hour when it comes to shop. We have to spend more than 15 minutes what to wear for today because we also depends on our mood and the weather. We are really meticulous when it comes for ourselves to look good and to feel good about ourselves. All those stuff is not only what the girls want, they need it. Aside from doing shopping here are some things that girls do:

Monthly Consumption

Girls have their monthly consumption, boys also has but not that much. We shop for our deodorant, feminine wash, napkins, hand and body lotion, moisturizer, facial wash, face powder and many more. With these monthly consumption, it helps the girls do the budgeting from their allowance or from their monthly salary.


Beauty Salon

A place where girls spend half of their day or less. It depends on what service they will avail. Girls, wants their hair to be beautiful, having a haircut about every three months to avoid split ends. Hot Oil or Hair Spa are good too. For their fingers and toes, manicure and pedicure always comes first for them, it looks nice when you have clean nails. :=)


Spa

I know, this is too much for the budget of girls, but this one is also included in what a girl need. Most girls are wearing high heels stilettos so they go to spa for their feet. Body scrubs is also a box office for girls to maintain flawless skin.



Body Massage

For me, this is the best because it's very relaxing and takes away your stress from work. 1 hour massage is good enough to relax and sleep while someone massaging your body.
